How can I redo plain wood cabinet doors?

How to redo your regular wood cabinets the doors? My cabinet doors are so old, they honestly look like someone just cut them out of cheap wood, and put dark finish on them. HELP. Also we are not wealthy, closer to poor. Well we are poor.

I would freshen them up with a coat of white or light grey paint on them
I would consider a paint job on your cabinets. I used to have plywood doors and drawers that were stained a dark color. I bought some MDF and used that to replace doors and drawer fronts. The cabinets and new MDF parts were painted a shade of white to spruce up the look.
I am sorry to all of you,feel like a fool,need computer 101,my niece did a wonderful job on her cabinet ‘s. This is of no use to you now,but I can get pic’s an see how she did them,so sorry
