Happy November friends!! The count down to the holiday season has officially started, and the Christmas decorations have taken over the stores. But before we jump straight to Christmas cheer, I wanted to share a simple Thanksgiving decoration idea with you. Every November, as a family we do something throughout the month to help us all remember to be more grateful. In years past we've done the Thankful Pumpkin idea- which we love. But this year I wanted to do something that we didn't have to throw away, and could be stored easily. So I decided to make a Thankful scroll to hang in our dining room all November long. The idea is that we can add to the scroll throughout the month, and get our families in on the fun when they are here for Thanksgiving as well. I'm excited to see it filled out, and to have a visual reminder all month of how very blessed we are."It's not happy people who are thankful. It is thankful people who are happy."
I purchased this antique dresser from a friend who lives down the street from me. Isn’t she a beauty? The mirror was in excellent shape, no scratches or anything, which is very rare.

Let’s play a word association game. When you hear “hydrogen peroxide,” what do you picture?
If it’s a first aid kit, you’re not alone. The vast majority of us keep hydrogen peroxide in the wings for scrape and bruise duty and kinda forget it exists 99% of the time. Tragedy! Hydrogen peroxide’s anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal properties make it one of the most valuable $2.00 purchases you can make at the drug store.
I had bought these old TV trays at a garage sale with the intent of refinishing them using chalk paint but after seeing all the posts on faux marble finish, I decided to try this instead. This was a great project to try this on. Now perhaps I'll try this on my laminate kitchen counters...
We needed a quick and easy way to give our storage closet floor a face lift. It's under the stairs, and we use it for a lot: my craft supplies, extra cleaning supplies, extra drinks and paper towels, the cat pans, and more. But when we moved in, they had left the floor unfinished concrete. This drove me NUTS because it was impossible to keep clean. I felt like it was always dusty, and seeing as the cat pans were in the area, we definitely wanted something that was easy to wipe up in case they had any accidents while trying to use their pans.As a first step, I swept the floor as best I could and used a vacuum attachment to run around the edges by the trim. (Why put up trim but no floor?!)

I'm a baker and a bit of a collector (hoarder?). I love baking tins, cookie cutters, etc. I have a stash of 6-cup muffin tins that I picked up at a thrift store. I have never baked only six of anything, so I'm not sure why that purchase ever happened. I have discovered something fun to do with them however...
