  • Add decorative trim! Easy and certainly makes a difference.

Here's an idea: Take the door down, lay it on newspaper, and lightly sand it on one side. Brush away any dust this may have caused. Place a large dime store doily on the top half of the door and one on the bottom half (making sure they are at least 4 to 5 feet apart). Spray paint the door in any color you wish. Remove doilies and allow the door to fully dry. Put the door back up and enjoy your unique door!

I got this idea from a gal on Hometalk who did this to her blinds. I just switched up the directions a bit.

  • A new coat of paint can give them some new life for sure. Either with a pretty glossy white again, or pick a new color that you love. Also, why not replace the knobs instead of the whole door? There are some really nice ones available in most of the hardware stores. And adding trim to look like moulding is a good idea too.

Molly is right. Changing door hardware can really take plain white doors from ho-hum to show stopping, depending on your selection and price point.
