How do I keep terra cotta pots from peeling after painting?

    I always use a sealer over the paint. Or lacker. Even if i am doing a inside project to me its not done until i spray it with Clear Coat..hope thus helps. Maybe ClearCoat would be better bc of a flower/plant living in it.

    You can't. They aren't made to paint because they hold moisture to help plants. The moisture will always peel the paint unless you use them for artificial plants.

    I agree with both Kelli & Peggy. A sealer will help prevent peeling from moisture from outside the pot. But clay is porous and holds moisture from inside the pot that will cause peeling from underneath the paint. You can seal the inside of the pot but then you lose the value of clay for the plant.
