How can I make my small home appear larger?

Inside or outside? If you mean Inside, mirrors really help make a room appear larger

Rebecca. Try painting rooms in light colors. Don't put too many things out. Try to limit counter clutter. Too many appliances, on the counter. Too many knick-knacks. Hang light color drapes or curtains, rugs also. If your cabinets are brown, paint them white gloss paint. My husband painted our brown cabinets white gloss, and my kitchen looks so much larger. Thanks Everyone. Yes. inside. My home is an old army barrack. It's a straight shot from one end to the other. It's hard to separate each room, i.e., diner from living room, to office. I will paint it all white? I think that'll work.

-Clean all windows inside and out, and remove heavy or dark window coverings, to allow for maximum light to enter inside.

-Change out all older incandescent light bulbs, or old fixtures, with LED light

-Lots of mirrors placed strategically to reflect light, and open spaces.

-Lamps/lights throughout the rooms at different levels, even in the corners.

-Mirrored closet doors and glass French doors, instead of solid

-Have the flooring as uniform as possible, instead of many different types.

-Remove,or limit as much as possible all small throw mats, which only break up the visible floor space, making it seem smaller than it really is

-Furniture with open legs and bottoms instead of solid or clunky designs.

White paint, mirrors, lots of plants(hanging) try to keep stuff up vertical(shelving) instead of all on floors. Use light colored airy furniture rattan,bamboo w/bright colored cushions.
