How do I add a banister to my front porch?

I have a very small cement front porch that I want to extend into an adjacent flower bed by about 18 inches and add a banister for the three steps down to ground level. I have NO IDEA where to begin.

You can use pavers or patio blocks for the porch extension.

Buy legs at home depot.
Yes they are table legs and come in many sizes. Then take a 2 x 4 or appropriate size attach to top. Spray paint. I do not know what bottom would be as is it earth, concrete or whatever.
I would quickset the posts into the ground adjacent to the steps. You would need to dig down a least 2' for the posts for support.
