Do you mean adding feathers/down or cleaning, sewing split seams?? Either way you'll need to Google it in your area. New York City is huge as is the state of New York. Need a specific area of New York city.Town/or city your in if you mean New York State, & what you mean by refurbished for anyone to begin to help you with suggestions for local place you could contact.

Gary-you need to try a Gleener you can get them on line at QVC.com,Amazon or at Target,Bed Bath Beyond,Pottery Barn it's a small tool that removes mats, balls etc. from clothing, material, sweaters etc. Be well worth it to try before spending bunch of $ on sending it to someone. just under 20$ for set up to 30$

I'm not sure what you mean by refurbish, Gary. If the cover on the comforter is worn or stained and you are looking to clean or replace it, the simplest solution is probably a duvet cover. They come in all sorts of styles. I like the ones that zip.

Okay Gary. You probably need more work than a cover will manage, but once it is repaired, get a duvet cover to protect it. That way when it gets soiled, you only have to wash the cover, so it wo t get damaged again. Good luck.

Hi Gary! I have been looking for you, and have not found a great deal of information. I would try going to a laundry and asking them if they know of anyone who does this. They many times know a lot of people & might be able to help you. Your local churches who have work days for giveaways to those in need may also have information, and in fact some people who do this kind of work. Here is a link I found as well:

A reputable company called The Down Store will clean and fill your old down comforter they're in New York. Since you live in New York perhaps you can find the information I was not able to find an address myself.

Here is one for the Down & Quilt Shop in NY.
