How can I remove border wall paper?

Long ago I put up a border wall paper at the top of my walls. This was the trend then. No molding is there. Now I want to remove it and put up molding between ceiling and walls.

I use a 50/50 mix of vinegar and hot water. Spray it on, let it soak through, and scrape off with a putty knife.

I use hot water n fabric softener . Spray do not soak, let it on for 5 mins than gently scrape off w scraper.

  Betty I brought my home with the dining room having 6 count them 6 different wallpaper. It worked with wallpaper so a border should be no problem...hope it,helps plus fabric softener smells better than vinegar.....tc

My husband is a contractor and simply smears sheet rock mud thinly over the wall paper, waits a few minutes, and it scrapes right off.

I haven't heard this before but sounds logical since it will be a paste, which will adhere to the wallpaper and dampen it. Thanks.
