Heje: Use a sticky lint roller! Cheap and easy!
I will roll some heavy tape used for taping packages or duct tape around my hand and knuckles and cut . Then I just go over the loose threads until the tape is completly covered and toss into the trash -repeat if necessary.
Hi Heje, you can buy the pet hair/lint rollers that are sticky, if you tape that to a broom handle, you can roll it over the carpet to pick up the threads, peel the them off to the next layer when they stop picking u threads and stuff. You can buy one at amazon, walmart, etc.

A vacuum works for me!
Why are there threads on the floor? Put a tarp down or vacuum when done for the day.
I'd use a sticky roller like the kind that picks up lint and pet fur.
I would either use a brush or a lint roller
Wax or tape will get it all up wrap tape around hand
A moistened sponge dragged across the carpeted area with the thread will pick it up for you very easily.
