Been researching this and want to know if anyone has done this? I’m reading that using garage floor paint works best. Thoughts ? Advice ? Ready to tackle it after the holidays.

Linda, I'm not sure if you meant stone tile or vinyl, so here are a few videos for you to choose from. Let me know if you need more help.

Hi, Linda! We recently painted our tile floor. We started with textured tile that never looked clean. After deciding that removing the tile and replacing it with hardwood was cost prohibitive, we decided to paint. After several mistakes and re-starts, here is the formula that seems to work best:

    1. clean very thoroughly with TSP and rinse thoroughly
    2. prime! We used KILZ
    3. paint! We used at least 3 coats of paint as we were covering a light color with a dark one. We painted both tile and grout. The paint we used was Behr Premium Plus Ultra.
    4. finish coat. We used Minwax Polycrylic finish coat, 2 coats.

It's holding up quite well to our family with 2 adults, 2 teens, and 2 dogs.
