I trimmed my evergreen trees and used them in these ways---

*a branch added to an old sled with a pr of ice skates

*a branch with a red ribbon and a few christmas ornaments on my front door

*branches added to an upside down tomato cage to create a "tree" then lights added

Cut the greens into shorter pieces, around 15 to 24". Lay a few in the same direction with the cut ends at the top. Bind the bunch together with twine or craft wire to make a swag, then cover the bound end with a big bow. They can be used instead of a wreath, or hang on porch columns and railings. Add any other decorations you wish. They do need to be kept outdoors or the needles will drop quickly.

Take a thick rope and wire the branches to it, and use as swags to decorate fences or other areas. Add bright ribbons at each swag.

Hi Willi. I cut the branches and put them in my flower pots. If you have any berry trees or red wood or birch branches that also adds color. Have fun!
