How do I paint outdoor canvas chairs?
I have two faded canvas chairs that are in good shape. They will be outside in full sun in Tucson, Arizona weather. I prefer to paint with a brush.

You can also use fabric paint, Fabric paint. Also, acrylic paint with a special medium mixed in to help it adhere to fabric and stay without cracking can be used. Fabric Paint is best, but acrylic paint will work if set using iron from other side of fabric.
First of all you have to use abric paint any other paint will make your chair go hard as rock Which you can buy at any craft or fabric store. Then tou just pour it in a container or a bucket andd use your brush andd paint them
Why would you want to paint this? The new paint will look the same way after awhile, don't you think? Best thing to do would be to put them away and bring'em out when you use them. My opinion would be the paint would crack when you sit and the chair expands. Best to put them away in the garage until
use. What'cha think?
Paint will work, see above suggestions for the right kind. Or, in our case I power washed the fabric and it looked like new. Our chairs are a brightish green. By power washing them both at the same time (about every other year) the color is different than when purchased but they do look the same. And, if the power washing isn't to your liking, then you can go ahead and paint. Use a "general" nozzle not the high powered one so you don't damage the fabric. I can put the gentle nozzle practically right on the fabric without damage but start gentle and try it in a obscure space first.

Chalk paint them...best recipe is with plaster of paris, water, acrylic or latex paint. Paint it on with a brush. Painting over darker colours takes two coats.
Hi there,
Had you thought to just stencil on a design rather than paint the whole chair.?
