My favorite time of year- Christmas!! And I just love to decorate and use things that I already have around the house. All you need to do is just take it to the next level. Check out this cozy and simple blanket ladder I made and use around the holidays. Blanket ladders are super trendy now, and if you don't have one yet, this is a great one you can make! These are great for displaying and storing blankets!

All you'll need is 3 2x2" boards

cut list 4 @ 16"

2 @ 80"

3"screws 8 of them

Screw driver

stain (I used Special walnut)

pair of gloves

old rag

square

tape measure

The first step is to cut the 2 x 2 board to 80" and sand it.

Next, I stain all of the boards that I cut. I use an old rag for this! Then after it's dry, it's time for assembling!

Next, I take and measure from the top of the 80" side 8.5" down, I mark and pre-drill and add my 3" screw. I then measure 15" down and pre-drill and add my screw. I do that for the last 2- all the way down the one side.

Then I use my square and put the second side on. This is a little tricky getting it all lined up. Put the square, and then do the same, measure 8.5 from top pre-drill and then 15" down for the rest.

Hopefully it all lined up and is straight (but if not, that's okay too!) and just stand it up against the wall. Now you can add in all of the magic touches!

Grab your blankets and a strand of 40 bulb lights. Assemble all of your pieces just how you like, and it'll begin to look like a magazine photo!

I also threw on few logs that I picked up at Lowe's, a green wreath, and some ribbon to match the blankets. Added a sweet basket and some throw pillows too- super cozy!!

I attached the wreath using some twine and added the bow to the wreath! I then ran the lights down the side. I tied the logs on with some raffia (that was already on them!).

You can use this year round as well, just change the decor for the appropriate season.

I love using things that are useful and adding that extra touch. I hope this inspires you to add those few extra touches around your home for this holiday Christmas season. This is an easy project and you can get to the hardware store to cut the wood so it's really good for anyone to do! This can be done very easily with basic stuff you probably have already!

Don't you think the step ladder or extension ladder is more convenient to use for storing blankets and other household things? it will save time and safe in use than any other ladder whether it hand made or other categories.

I too love this project. I have a few Christmas rugs that I would NEVER put on the floor, so this would be excellent. The one thing I would do differently is to use a bigger basket, preferably straw or wood, more in keeping with the style of the ladder. Now I just need to find wall space on which to lean my ladder!
