Don't put it in the aluminum foil, baking soda, boiling water. No easy fast way, just use damp soft white wash cloth and white toothpaste. May need small soft bottle brush & toothbrush to get into intricate areas, even some wood toothpicks. Just have to do piece by piece, this way you won't ruin silver, scratch it,ruin any stones/gemstones. Rinse really well by placing each piece you've done in bowl of tepid water then scrub with toothbrush again while submerged then lay each piece out for drying on towel then with white washcloths dry well. Make sure white wash cloths are cotton do not have fabric softener on them; they'll smear ,streak and be less absorbent. To reduce tarnish on pieces wash them after wearing with a drop or so of Dawn and warm water to remove oil/ grease from body, dry thoroughly then put away. Keeping silver in airtight containers(ziplock baggies) will also greatly reduce tarnish. If you have coated gemstones(Mystic Topazes etc.) or soft gemstones(Tanzanite etc.) lead filled(rubies)be xtra careful so you don't remove coating or scratch stones. And Opals(also soft) cannot be immersed in water very long they may not regain all the colors after they dry out.

Can't do a lot at time. Must do each piece. Note: don't ever use Tarnex. It will ruin your jewelry.

"To reduce tarnishing on silver jewelry pieces, go the homemade route by mixing three parts baking soda with one-part water. This paste mixture will eliminate tarnish, so only use when necessary. Rinse with cool water, then rub or pat dry with a soft, lint-free cloth."

Here comes the most effective method to clean your silver jewelry, first prepare boiled water, alumium foil, a soup bowl. Put the alumium foil into the soup bowl, add one tablespoon of baking soda with the cup of water into the bowl, be cautious that the solution will be bubbling. Now you can place your tarnished silver jewelry into the mixed solution in the bowl. One major key you need to secure is that you must ensure the silver jewelry is in contact with the alumium foil because it will guarantee the chemecial reaction that will refurbish the silver jewelry. Make sure the silver jewelry in the solution for over 5 mins, if you still see the jewelry not fully refurbish, longer time will be considered. In the end, you can pull out the silver jewelry using spoon or fork, and then rinse using cool water. You will be suprized to see the brand new silver jewelry afterwards. Enjoy wearing your new silver jewelry there!

These are many ways to clean your silver, try one of these:

    No more tarnishing with aluminum

Boil 4 cups of water, a tablespoon of baking soda, and some aluminum foil. Place silverware in for 10 seconds then remove with kitchen tongs.

    Ketchup isn’t just for eating

Tarnished silver can be polished with ketchup using a paper towel – for silver that has crevices, use a toothbrush.

Kill two birds with one stone

When using Windex to clean your windows, spray some on a rag and use it to scrub your silver.

    Brush your silver with toothpaste

Use circular motions to brush non-gel and non-abrasive toothpaste onto silver. Leave on for five minutes before washing off with water.

    Use soda for tarnished silver

Fill a plastic bowl with lemon-lime soda and place slightly tarnished silver in it for one hour. Rinse and dry with a paper towel.
