    Hi Paula,

Do you mean home canned tomatoes & sauce? We do those every year and last year we cleaned out an closet that wasn't being used and added a rolling plastic shelf system for storage. If you don't have an extra closet, you could put shelves in a basement. You want to keep them cool and dark if possible. I will say that in prior years, we had them on a bookshelf in a bedroom and they were fine. We did find that we run out of our home-canned ones around spring time. That works good for us because we use a lot more in the winter than in the summer. If you're asking about store bought canned tomatoes, I'd just put them on a shelf wherever I had room. You do want to keep them away from areas that have high moisture because that will affect the can. I hope this helps. Wishing you the best!

      Hi Paula,

When I have that happen, I freeze the other part marking the date and amount on the bag. Hope that helps.

Tomato sauce remove from can/jar freeze in ice cube trays then when frozen empty into storage container to keep in freezer. Crushed tomatoes put in container big enuf to hold them & freeze. To save space you can also use zip-lock baggies and either freeze them flat as pancake or rolled into log shape. Be sure to remove all air, frozen items last much longer without air.Label baggies or containers with dates & what they are using older items first. If in cans you can pretty much keep them anywhere as long as temperature doesn't fluctuate really high or really low

After they are frozen all the way you can store them in freezer either standing up like thin books in a row or laying down in stacks. great space saver.
