are they flying - or crawling? If flying - probably gnats. Try this: in a small dish, pour vinegar (about 1/2 cup) and two or three drops of liquid dish detergent (swirl your finger in this mixture two or three slow turns.) Cover dish tightly with plastic wrap - then poke about 5 small holes in top. This allows the gnats

to go in (they are attracted to the smell) but unable to get out.

If they are crawling, the only thing I know to do is to spray (if you don't have pets in your home) around all baseboards. Then go outside and spray the perimeters of your foundation at the base - almost into the dirt. Check for large gaps between the ground and your foundation. If you are renting, ask your landlord to call an exterminator. I know that they can drive you crazy... good luck.

Small crawling bugs sprinkle a mixture of borax soap and baking soda, around the floor boards under the refrigerator, under cabinets any where you see them. Works great.

Most are attracted to moisture. Make sure all countertops are wiped dry. No standing coffee cups...no fruit....most of all let any plants dry completely out and water sparingly. Good luck!

Depending on the type of bugs, you might want to try diatomaceous earth. Here's an article on it to see if you think it will help you. It's available at Lowe's, Home Depot, Tractor Supply - not sure of other stores.

    Here's a few prevention tips:

When buying grain products (flour, meal, and such), put in the freezer for a few days before transferring to an airtight container.

Keep as much as possible in an airtight container.

The other points made by Joy & Fiddledd are great as well.

Put a dried bay leaf at the back of each shelf. Keeps bugs away.

If they are gnats or fruit flies, take a small mason jar and poke some little holes in the lid....fill it was apple cider vinegar...they will go in but cannot get back out. Tried this last summer and it worked super...I sat these small jars out around the house and no more gnats.
