What's the best flower/plant to grow in Texas?
I know that opinions vary, but what's your opinion?!I have great luck w Rosemary plants. Green all year long.
They don't go dormant. They just slow in growth. I do mine(Arizona)anytime except when blossoms are forming you don't want to remove them of course or no fruit. Depending where you live the canopy(spread of limbs & leaves) provides shade for trunk so the bark doesn't get scalded/burned from sun. Any break in bark/skin causes other damage bugs, disease. I try to leave mine alone don't prune or cut back except for any suckers(new shoots on main trunks, branches) I try to keep those removed so all energy goes to older limbs, branches that get blossoms & fruit.
Hope this link helps you!
Here is an article that might help - https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/fruits/oranges/pruning-orange-trees.htm
Hi, When to Prune Orange Trees. If you do decide to prune this citrus tree, plan to do so just prior to bloom time or just after fruit set. For instance, in warmer regions, prune in the spring between February and April; in cooler areas, delay the pruning until late February or March.
