How do I identify this bug?

I see this beetle all the time in my garden and don't know if it's beneficial, neutral, or bad. Anyone know what it is?

Cucumber beetle. Inspect newly planted cucurbit plants for the presence of this beetle; be watchful when plants are seedlings.

Use yellow sticky traps to catch cucumber beetles.

Knock beetles to the ground and catch them with a piece of cardboard placed under the plant. They are not beneficial. Cucumber beetles are nasty little pests that attack cucumbers and related plants (squash, melons, pumpkins) throughout the growing season. ... The adults will also eat leaves and flowers on adult plants. If that's not bad enough, the pests also carry and spread a disease called bacterial wilt.

    Garden organically....it's that simple !!

Not sure what insect this is as I cannot see it's mouth parts.

If it's a ladybird all is good as they will eat aphids, if it's something not so good, getting the balance right in your garden will allow nature to take care of it. Preditors will come in, birds and other insects to keep all in check.

Keep good garden hygiene, clear up dead plants and dead and dying foliage that might host eggs

Sticky traps will 'trap' all insects...good and bad !!...please don't resort to chemicals x
