How do I remove a wood burning stove from my fireplace?

I have a very old wood burner in my fireplace. It sticks out and is obtrusive in the room. I greatly want to remove this non usable eyesore but I don’t know where to begin. Can anyone help me please.

Prior to doing anything find the manufacturer’s name on the stove. Find their website to see if they have a manual that covers installation and removal. If you are unsuccessfull try a local wood stove / fireplace store for a little advice. And if all else fail’s. The wood stoves are usually just slid into the firebox on a fireplace. Does it look lik it was bolted to the face. If so remove anything holding it. Clean it out with a shop vac. If it has fire brick inside try to remove that too. This will greatly reduce the weight of the stove. Prepare your room so as not to damage the floor or carpets or whatever. Get some strong helpers. Slowly slide it out of the firebox. Good luck!

On heavy items as these are, you are best off to call a professional in HVAC rather than risk a hernia.
Chimney sweeps take these out nearly everyday. You could probably hire one and have this done fairly cheap since it would only take them a matter of minutes.
