If they are bare wood branches, you can spray paint them the color of your choice, then simply poke them into the tree, cut end first, between the branches.
Hi Kathy! It is a wonderful rustic treat to have real wood from your own place to make decorations! Good luck to you & I hope you have a wonderful Christmas.

Hi Kathy. I'm Cindy. I would like to suggest that you spray paint them either gold or silver. You could twine them together using wire to make a structure of branches to hang from the ceiling, or put them in a large vase. Either way, you could hang ornaments on them. I like the look of the same color of ornaments with different exteriors like some glass, some velvet, and some with glitter. Good luck Kathy and Happy Holidays.
You can make a beautiful garland using cut pieces of sticks from your yard. Use jute twine and tie the sticks (about 3-4" long) one at a time along the jute. You can add bells, greens, just keep attaching with the jute.
Thank you for some great suggestions! Guess what I will be doing this weekend... crafting with branches.
Merry Christmas.
