you can use fresh pine and ornaments....but the best thing is to add a small set of battery operated fairy lights.....whether they are warm white or multi-color it will look awesome!!!
I have a little vignette of Christmas lanterns this year on my porch. Honestly, they can be pretty just on their own. But I added battery operated flameless candles, and some faux holly inside another one. Adding pine cones and greenery in or around your lanterns works well too. A single lantern or a collection of them on your tables will look pretty embellished with some of these natural items. Have fun :)
