I started off with this dated honey stained bread box. Looking a bit drab, let's freshen it up! The first thing I did was apply two coats of Annie Sloan chalk paint in Co Co.
Updated Bread Box
Doesn’t everyone have an outdated Bread Box? Well, I've got a great update for you! Did you know that just a bit of chalk paint can update anything?! Yep, it's true- take a look at this easy technique.
I let each coat dry, and that took about one hour per coat.
The next step was to add a bit of interest and detail. Using a chippy brush and very little paint- just on the bristle tips, I dry brushed a light layer of lighter paint over the original coat. I used a duck egg and old white paint to add depth. Try top be a bit random about the strokes, to give it that aged look.
Then I sealed it off with two applications of wax wiping with a lint free rag after to give it a nice buff.
Then you have an updated bread box with a coastal feel you no longer need to hide in the corner!
