  • Vinegar, water and newspaper. I have never used anything else. BEST is what works for you. I know some people swear by windex or similar type products. Whatever gets your windows clean and streak free, is what is best for you.

II agree with the previous answer but one more tip. Don't wash them in bright sunlight. The solution dries too quickly and you will have streaking.

Hi Joe! I dilute white vinegar with water and put it in a spray bottle.

Use Dawn dish soap and hot water to clean frames, sills etc. then rinse then dry, then use straight rubbing/isopropyl alcohol and clean white wash cloth or newspaper on glass. Cloth must not have fabric softener on it, it will streak & smear windows as does paper towels they have chemicals in them or are coated to absorb better. Wipe inside window horizontal & outside vertical (or whichever way you wish) but this allows you to see which side is still dirty easier. Use single edge razor to scrape off anything that is stuck on glass prior to wiping with alcohol & cloth. rubbing alcohol/isopropyl alcohol is what is in windex etc. only diluted.

My mom did it real cheap with great results! She washed with ammonia water and rinsed with vinegar water and dried with newspaper. Her windows always sparkled both inside and out! Cheap and easy!
