I like using risers so I can see what's in the back. You can purchase them or you can just cut a block of wood the width of the cabinet, multiples if needed.
I have a deep, narrow cabinet where I store canned items I buy in bulk. Then I line them up so the same item is in a row, front to back.
Many people like lazy susan or rolling can organizers.
You can also keep a chart on the inside of the cabinet - that's what I do for my refrigerator.
