You can probably find many tutorials on You Tube to follow. I think they are popular so hardware is probably available also. Good luck with your DIY ! I personally like barn doors myself in decor.
i just bought 6' rail and it covers the 50" easy Amazon has hardware and any home store has LUAN paneling a couple 2x4's and your set with a DIY barn door slider ...hope that helps!
Do you really think you can manhandle or build a door that will probably weigh 150 lbs? Also do you have the hundreds of dollars worth of tools needed to make something half decent?
Your rail needs to be 2 times the width of the opening, so you can open the door fully
We made a door that was 40 inches wide, but you can definitely make one larger. The hardware kit that we used also had the option to purchase and extension to make the track longer.

With one door this large of a size, the weight alone might lead to some problems in securely mounting the hardware into the wall so that it sufficiently supports the door hanging still, and in motion.
