We do this with oriental rugs, should work on clothing. Pour kitty litter over cloth and tie,up tight in a plastic bag for at least one week, then launder. Hope it helps.
Have you tried Oxyclean? That works wonders, also the dollar tree has a product called Awesome, both that and Oxyclean are dry peroxide based laundry products.
After you soak the clothing, in laundry detergent and the additive, let the cycle finish, then do an additional rinse with white vinegar.

Soak in vinegar for up to 24 hours and then wash in the washer with detergent, and oxiclean.

20 Mile Team Borax added to washer with detergent and warm water has worked for years for me.
