  • Excellent! The hole will certainly add tons of natural beauty and character. I would leave it as is. Has the wood been cured yet?

    • Ok. Since it was only found in October, it is not cured, and anything (sealer), will peel in the short term. Needs to be left in its raw state for at least a good 6 months and up to a year. Then you can seal if desired. Set in the sun if possible for quickest results. Yes, wood glue is perfect to reattach the bark.

You can fill with Bondo, sand smooth and paint it a dark brown like a knot hole. Sounds like it will be beautiful.

    What is your question?

Hi Laura! I would suggest wood filler that's a close or darker color if you want to fill the knot hole. Hairpin legs would be fabulous!

  • A hole is cool! Depending on its size and location I’d leave it as is. You can fill it with resin too.

Use resin and fish tank rocks in a color you like to fill the hole! Many natural wood crafters do this intentionally in sliced cracks and openings. Tables are VERY expensive to purchase and look gorgeous.
