Apple trees are always good. You can plant different types so you have fresh apples nearly all year. We have a Moyer prune tree. I love the fact I can pick these in the summer and dry them for snacking in the winter. Also love our pear trees. But these are my favorites. Think about what you and your family likes or doesn't like and work from there. I don't know what you zone is so can't really recommend something for your area.

We are in Texas and have apple, pear, pecan, orange, lemon, persimmon, pomegranate trees.
