I would try using an adjustable tension rod; no fixture needed
tension rod or dowel with the plastic cups ot support it that can screw into the side of each cabinet. you can have a dowel cut to the length of your space.
Using a tension rod is great. Just be sure to purchase one that will fit in your space, run through your curtains, and will hold the weight of the curtains.

A tension rod run between the two cabinet sides should do the trick.
