This depends on what your base is. If you have a rusty metal object, brush with a wire brush and spray with rust converter.

If you have rust stains on a non-porous surface such as a bathtub, use CLR or vinegar.

Clothing requires a different product with which I have no experience.

    Try WD40.

I would use either a rust removal brush (for thick rust) or sand paper or emery file for smaller rust spots.

Use gloves so you don't get rust particles in your skin.

Hello. Cindy here. Use good old-fashioned white vinegar. The vinegar reacts with the rust to dissolve it off of the metal. To use, soak the metal in the vinegar for a few hours and then scrub the rusty paste off. If the object is too big to soak directly in the vinegar, pour a layer over the top and allow it time to set.
