  • Hi Belinda, I'm not sure what kind of counter you have, but here's an article explaining how to fix a burnt laminate countertop. Perhaps it will help. https://www.hunker.com/12279653/how-to-repair-a-burnt-countertop

I had a kitchen counter that had the same thing, only the insert was a heat-proof ceramic panel. Since it was in exactly the same spot a hot pot had been put down on the counter, it was exactly where it needed to be.

It was very durable, and at last count, was over 30 years old--and looking way better than the laminate counter surrounding it.

Cleaning was easy, and occasional stains easily removed by the same cleaners used on glass top stoves.

What material is your counter made of?

First, wipe the surface burn down with a small amount of liquid soap and warm water and clean the surface entirely.

Next, use a small amount of the white toothpaste and completely cover the burn surface area.

Let the toothpaste sit on the burn for about 5 minutes.

Then, scrub the entire area with your brush for a few minutes.

Scrub well enough to get the white toothpaste to penetrate into the burn mark.

Next, wipe the surface down with warm water. If you have only a light stain on your countertop then this method should remove it.

If the burn mark remains repeat the same procedure using the soft scrub cleaner with bleach.
