Beverly, It all depends on the size of the room, the furniture, and anything else you have in the room,. You want to set up the TV on the biggest wall, a place where everyone can see, after you arrange the furniture. Aloha!

If you are worried about the size dominating your room, treat it like a cinema and close curtains across it when not in use.

I made a triangular shelf for one corner of my living room out of 3/4 rough plywood. To support it I fastened boards along the 2 walls and screwed the plywood to it. As the new TVs are super light this is more than adequate. Bore a hole behind the TV for cables. Hope this works for you.
