How do I get chair marks off the wall?

How about a black strip all around the room at the same height? That BBC way it will never show again!

My name is Linda and my favorite way to remove marks on my walls is to use baking soda. I mix it with water to make a "paste", then apply it to the wall and let it sit a while. Then come back with a damp sponge and rub it a bit to make sure the marks are gone. Finally remove any baking soda with water. If it's a really stubborn mark, I'll spray the paste with vinegar before letting it sit a while. If necessary, repeat until the marks are gone. Wishing you the best.

Wet a very soft cloth and wring it out thoroughly. Lightly buff the scuff mark with the dampened cloth, gradually applying more pressure as you work. Stay directly over the scuff mark, being careful not to scrub at the surrounding area. If the scuff mark disappears, wipe the wall with a soft, dry cloth. If it does not, move on to alternative cleaning methods.

Dampen a melamine cleaning sponge and wring it out. Scrub at the scuff mark, going in circles, up and down and left to right. If the scuff mark is still visible, move on to a more aggressive cleaning method.

Add a few drops of liquid dish detergent to a medium-size bowl and fill it with warm water. Wet a clean rag in the solution; wring it out before scrubbing the scuff mark. Do not over saturate the wall. If you begin making headway with the scuff mark, but need a bit more strength, place a drop of liquid dish detergent directly on the rag and scrub again.

Clean stubborn scuff marks with an all-purpose household cleaner. Spray the cleaner onto a rag and scrub the mark. If that does not work, spritz the wall directly and scrub again. As an alternative, make a paste with baking soda and water. Place a small amount of the paste on the end of a clean cloth and scrub the mark.

Rinse the cleaned area with a damp rag. Wipe the wall dry with a clean cloth.

You could add a second rail at the scuff mark line. Paint both rails and the space between the same color. If you think it will be too wide or bold, paint it all the same color as the wall but use a higher gloss finish.

I would use a magic eraser!

So.....you don't have a chair railing and adding one will break up the space too much.

Using your current wall color, you could add a painted stripe in high gloss over the scuff marks. Add more stripes above and below to create a subtle highlighted wallpaper effect.

High gloss paint is durable and can hold up to multiple scrubbings to remove scuff marks.

Where your chairs hit the wall paint that area with clear polyurethane. that should stop the chairs from further marking your beige walls with black. As far as repairing the walls can magic eraser is pretty slick.
