How do I get my microwave turntable to stop making a clinking noise?

My microwave is 8 months old and just started to make a clunking sound after I took out glass turntable and its support ring to wash them. It can still be used however, this noise is annoying. The company said they would refund my money if I sent them sales slip, all labels from back of micro plus the power cord which I must cut off. Don't have a tool to cut through heavy duty cord. I just want that clunking noise to go away as the micro can still be used.

The wheels on the rotating support ring might still have something greasy or sticky on them. I pop corn a lot and for whatever reason that makes it worse. Soak overnight in hot water, dawn, and rinse the next day. Take a toothpick and see if you can route out any gunk leftover. Hope that helps.

Male sure the glass plate is sitting correctly on the centre. Hope I'm not being stupid but sometimes if it isn't positioned right it does clunk as it slips off.

Jean, it sounds like you don't have the turntable placed in correctly, so it is wobbling and making the noise. See if any of these videos help. If they don't solve the problem call the manufacturer and tell them you need one of their representatives to come look at it.

It sounds like the glass platter is not set on the rotation gear correctly. The "gear teeth" need to match up with the platter.

If you remove the platter and turn the microwave on, you will not hear a clicking sound. If you do, then there is a problem with the rotation motor.

    Hope this helps.

Check to make sure the support ring is properly seated in the groove and the glass turntable is on right. This happens to me a lot after I wash the glass.
