How do I revive or camoflauge an old refrigerator door?

You can paint it after treating rust.

My white fridge had rust spots under the side with the water/ice dispenser. I tried a little bottle of appliance paint which worked for a while, but then it flaked off. The fridge is too old (18 years) to put a lot of money into fixing it, so I got white board contact paper and covered the lower door. No more rust spots and I can write on it with Dry-Erase markers.
Ah yes, but they made stuff better back then didn't they? I don't miss the funky colors either. They had their place in history . . . I have black appliances in the house now, but not fond of them, long story. When they need replacing, I am going back to standard white.
