Depending on how big it is, paint it with Modge Podge and sprinkle glitter on it and make it into a Christmas ornament

I have covered lightbulbs with White glue like PVA or modgepodge. Then cover with glitter. Let it dry. Then cover with glue again. Glitter again. Dry then cover again with glue, this will stop the glitter coming off. Add a wired ribbon to the top and around the top of the bulb. Could also attach little embellishments like small baubles or beads.

You could also paint it white, dry then add a image cut from a serviette. Dry, then cover image with watered down glue or stay varnish to seal.

I like to display the antique bulbs standing up in an outlet so I go to the hardware store and I purchase a simple ceramic outlet and I screwed the bulb into that base . It's nice and heavy to keep it from falling over. It looks good on a bookshelf in cartoon world... A bulb above the head is called an idea.

Halogen bulbs are very fragile. and do explode on occasion. Best to use another type of bulb.

I wouldn't mess with anything filled with gases.
