Arborvitea 'Emerald Green" grows to 10 - 12 feet high, 3-4 feet wide for zones 2 - 7. Not sure what your zone is but guessing 7 might be okay unless you're close to the coast.
Cedar trees perhaps.
I agree, arborvitea. We used them around our pool and they gave us the privacy we wanted.
I’m in Cape Town, South Africa so not sure what trees you should plant but the main thing you must be careful of are trees with a wide spreading root system which could damage your in ground pool
I suggest contacting your County Extension Agent and telling them what your plans are for fencing near a pool. they can provide you with ideas that will work well in your area. You also want to consider how the roots may affect your pool in years to come. They'll provide you pictures of the various species and all the info about typical growth, etc.
All trees are messy. Even pines they can have tremendous amounts of fine yellow powdery pollen. The ones Kathy mention are probably best/least messy & fastest growing zones 3-9 here's info. on them https://www.gardendesign.com/trees/arborvitae.html more https://www.fast-growing-trees.com/Arborvitae-Trees.htm
