Dog urine is very tough on grass. The most helpful is putting your dog on a leash and taking the dog to the very same spot in your yard every time he/she needs to use the bathroom. You can also create a space with a wood frame and small rock for a bathroom area. You can hose it down on a regular basis. As far as fixing urine spots in your grass it is recommended that you rake out all the dead yellow grass spots and then sprinkle some grass seed down and cover it with about an inch of topsoil, keeping it damp until it sprouts. It will take about 10 days for new grass to sprout if the temperature is around 60-70 degrees day and night.

Thanks so much! Love the idea of the doggy bathroom.

I run the sprinklers for a couple minutes in the morning before they go out and again every night for about 5 minutes. 6+ dogs in my yard and I taught them all where to go, to make it easier.

    Hello,

Our dogs have been trained to pee in a mulched area.

We had problems with dog urine devastating the green grassy turf. When the human leash training and otc urine ph supplement and other recommendations failed-We resorted to a remote training collar to train our dogs over the last 17+ years. This collar is exactly the same principle as our existing invisible fence, but you can resort to a tone only button initiation to keep the dog away from an area you’re trying to protect. There are two different zap modes of nick and shock that you initiate and regulate by a intensity dial. Its the same type of collars hunting dogs use.

I do realize these Remote training collars are not for all people but if you using invisible type fence already- it’s likely a great option. My dogs were trained to pee and in mulched area and our grass has been great the last 23years. After training they don't need to wear the collar.

Hello-It’s possible. Im using it on a 70# Weimaraner another type of hunting dog. We moved from a preplanned community- smaller lot to a one acre waterfront residence so the remote collar to establish property boundaries. The tone-beep sound accomplices a lot, we rarely have to use an energized shock.

These training collars are meant for hunting dogs

like labs and border collies are very high up in the intellectual scale. I would research it further, or do you know a hunter you could borrow one from? Here is the manufacturer Im using they're sold by this site plus on Amazon and many other retailers.

Having had the invisible fence it was the perfect solution for us to assist with training.

As soon possible after your dog has peed, hose it well with lots of water. The best is to train your dog to go in a certain place where you have put gravel down or a hedge barrier around to hide it's "bathroom".
