How could I make insulated panel curtains that could easily be opened?

A few years ago, I made insulated curtain panels with quilted fabric and flat sheets from Walmart, trying to keep out the winter's cold. They were simple to make, but in order to open them each morning, I had to simply take them down. I couldn't decide on an easy, attractive way to lift up the bottom that wouldn't crease the fabric so much that it wouldn't again lay flat. Help me figure this out so I can keep out the Maine winds!

Change your rod. Use a dual rod with curtain clips. Sheers underneath for warmer days, and insulated on the outside for when it is bitter cold and need to be closed.

You can pleat them and put on a traverse rod.
Actually what needs to be done is caulk around the windows on the outside before the wind/cold seeps into the house.
As far as the curtain panels are concerned, I'd sew a ring on the lower inner corner of each panel with a hook on the wall on the upper opposite corner. To open, just place the ring on the hook. You will not get fold creases this way.
