How can I get my grout white again?

I applied Chlorox toilet bowl cleaner between the tiles in the grout lines. Let it set an hour or so, then flushed it with water from a pump up sprayer. Vacuumed the water with a wet vac and mopped it dry. It didn't do anything for the tile with glaze worn from over 40 years of wear, but the very dingy grout looks much cleaner. Have re-tiled one bathroom recently and will likely do the uglier one soon.

This method works well on floors, not sure how you would do anything with a vertical surface such as a wall. Do be careful not to let the Chorox cleaner escape onto carpeted or hardwood floored area as you rinse it. I'm sure it would bleach carpet or attack the finish on floors.

I used grout paint pen on my dark gray grout to make it white. Took a while but came out beautiful.
