How do I make a kitchen cabinet cleaner with fabric softener?
In the back of my mind I remember someone telling me to clean kitchen cabinets with a mixture that contained fabric softener. Any idea what the concoction contains?
2 Cups Conditioner
3 Cups White Vinegar
6 Cups HOT Water
Combine and stir slowly till mixed. Avoid shaking or vigorous mixing or it will foam up
Hi Sara! Plain white vinegar poured into the dispenser will give you good results and help keep your machine cleaner.
I just use vinegar in my cup, nothing else.
ditch the hair conditioner --- most 'fabric' softeners will eventually cause your towels to become less absorbent. For a build up -- use a CUP of baking soda in place of detergent, and a cup of vinegar in the bleach cup; wash on cold or hot depending on the materials/color ... and continue to use vinegar in place of bleach unless you think you 'NEED' bleach for stain removal -- then pretreat with a spray on product for the type of stain -- grease, blood, grass, etc.
When making the fabric softener, you need to remember that fabric softener builds up in all material and especially in towels, and they will not absorb water as they should.
The best thing is to use a 1/2 + cup of vinegar in the rinse water to get rid of soap build up. Using fabric softener justs masks the problem of soap build up - it doesn't get rid of it.
