How can I inexpensively insulate concrete floor?

my basement floor is very cold; my concrete block walls are too. Looking for ideas to keep cold out without. All suggestions welcome. Happy Holidays

    Area rugs, carpet remenants,for floor. Maybe hang heavy tarps or old blankets at walls. Hope you can stay warm until you can finish the basement.

    Hi Rob,

    Use insulation between Panelling and also in between Concrete Floor and Timber Floating floor. That should help a lot.

    Sounds like you need to insulate. For the walls you can put up the blue thick insulation board glued to the wall and then cover with something else which needs to be nailed with concrete nails to the walls. For the floors there is a Square insulating material ( 2X2 feet)that waterproofs and insulates the floor before putting another flooring over top. It all depends on how much you want to spend because there is no real cheap and easy fix for this project. Also for the walls, you can build a stud wall, fasten it to the concrete and insulate in between the studs. Add an insulating board to the top of that and then finish the wall.
