Is it peeling ? You don't want to Paint? What is the issue?

I had to hire someone to remove wallpaper over original paint, from 1968, paint was then put on top of that wallpaper with another layer of wallpaper and painted again! It was peeling in some places. The horror of the paint colors under first layer showed why they wallpapered over it. I bought from original owner. I grew up right across street from her.

    Hi Ruth,

My name is Linda. The best way to handle this is to get a tool called a "tiger" from the hardware store. That will score the wallpaper. Then steam the paper/paint until it all comes off. If you put anything on top of the paper, you run the risk of the paper coming loose and your new wall decor will fall off. Whoever painted the wallpaper should have removed it first but didn't take the time to do that. Once you have all the wallpaper/paint off the wall, you can paint it or used any kind of tiles that you like. Wishing you the best.

Best to remove the wallpaper. Get a "Paper Tiger" to score the wallpaper. I use a 50/50 mix of vinegar and hot water sprayed on to soften the paper and glue. Use a putty knife to scrape off. Use the same mixture to clean any adhesive residue.

Yes, do what William said. Hot water is the secret. I know you content to remove it, but st this point it's all you should do.
