Fast and Simple Christmas Wreath

The grapevine wreath (free) is large and old. Some little twigs break off every year, and maybe some larger pieces break, but don’t fall off. This still leaves a wreath almost 36” across. This bow ($1) is velveteen and also old. I used a twist tie to secure the bow to the wreath. The little berries disappeared before I hung the wreath, but I found them later.

In the box I found a large roll of lovely jacquard red ribbon with gold trim ($4 on sale). I used about a yard and a half to wrap the wreath with about four inches between rounds. Where the two ends met, I wound the ends around some grapevine to hold the ribbon in place.

In the storage box, besides all of our Christmas stockings, were two big Santa hats ($1 after Christmas), about two feet wide at the rim. I used one of the hats to perch over one section of the wreath. There was enough grapevine to pin the hat into place, although I might add some sealing tape later to get the exact perkiness I want.

This is what the wreath looked like inside the house. The berries are still there at this point!

And here is my bare-bones wreath! The wind was whipping the cap around, but I hung the wreath by one grapevine twist on a Command large hook. The hook ($1) has been on the glass storm door for well over a year and is still holding strong.
