How do I repair my vinyl ottoman that has suffered cat claw damage?

I have a sofa ottoman that is made of black vinyl material, the top of it comes off as a reversible lid with a hard surface to use as a table. The inside is used for storage. I really like the ottoman, however, my cats claws caused damage to it years ago. It is still in sturdy condition. Any ideas for a good fix?

Hi there, You could use Black or for that matter coloured Gaffer tape and make stripes on it, or you could fit a loose cover or have it re-upholstered.............
You could probably recover the damaged vinyl and perhaps give it a different color or texture to update it at the same time. You can use the existing vinyl as a template for the new pieces you are putting on. The spray adhesives would probably work really well for much if not all of the ottoman. If the top has stuffing that is still in good shape, you may be able to reuse it.
