What new ideas do you have for Christmas plate settings?

I need cute, fun, kid and adult-friendly ideas for lunch for Christmas. I want to do place cards, napkins, and a small centerpiece. I have white Corelle plates and saucers, I have glass glasses or plastic cups. Casual describes my style, but my guests appreciate festive little touches. Ideas, please? ☺️

Hi Jewell. I'm Cindy. One little "touch" that I have always done is to wrap your silverware in a napkin. Then tie a cute Christmas ribbon around them. Stick a candy cane in each bundle. You could add a cute ornament on the ribbon and write their names on each ornament instead of place cards. Good luck Jewell and Happy Holidays.

My grands don’t like peppermint but they really love the candy canes that are coffee, cocoa, butterscotch, buttered rum, and caramel. The whole family would love that sophisticated touch. Thanks you! ☺️

I saw somewhere where they used white plates as a snowman setting. Put a salad plate directly above dinner plate. Make a simple hat cutout to put above. Lay the fabric dinner napkin at the neck area like a scarf. Very cute and simple.

  • Ok Jewell, I found some visuals for you.

Pick out bits from them that would work on your table.

Greens, an extra garland, candles, whatever you have around the house to add some extra flair.

One year I used magnolia leaves, red apples, white votive candles and pinecones and nuts in the shell strewn artfully down the center of the table.

Another year I used extra strands of garland and mini potted poinsettias.

Even extra ball ornaments in clear glass vases look pretty.

We have rosemary growing on our property. Used that in vases and purchased a grocery store bunch of flowers and made 3 arrangements.

Hope this gets you started to think about what you might already have to use.

    • Oh Jewell! I had no idea! I am so so sorry. At least you knew what it was and did the right thing. We are so lucky in this country to be able to just dial 911 for help. That's a long time in rehab, and I am glad you were there, the longer you get quality care, the better. Do you have a walker, cane or wheelchair so you can get around the house safely on your own? Yes, memory will and can come back. I went through this with my mom when she was still alive, but those are stories for another time. Just so happy to hear you are on the mend. Don't worry about posting projects for now, it just might come back to you, and if not, we can walk you through it when you are ready. And it is funny that you remember me, yet not your friends from church. Goes to show how complex our minds are. My paternal grandmother, my father and my father-in-law all had Alzheimer's, yet each case was very different as to what they did or did not remember and level of function, more stories for another time.

I am doing just fine, was on vacation with my ex hubby, brother and sister in law in Morro Bay, CA for 10 days with our dogs. Here are a couple photos.

Here is my email address for when you feel up to it, we can chat away! Baileyanddaisey@gmail.com.

So good to hear from you, thanks for letting me know.

    Hello,

Heres an easy idea, minus the dinner plate.

That’s so pretty. I may actually pull out the real China, but I really think I’ll just stick with Corelle. But that look is classic. Thank you! ☺️
