Kitchen Remodel

$1500
Medium
It took nearly two years to complete and cost about $1500 to do, but we finally finished our kitchen remodel. Just in time to sell our home. Sigh. It all started because I wanted to remove the wallpaper and the carpet.
We are sad to leave this beautiful kitchen behind but hope someone else loves it as much as we do. You can see all the details on my blog. ‪

The main view of the kitchen, after the remodel. We exposed the brick wall, built open shelves, rebuilt the stove peninsula and added a bar area, amongst many other projects. See the complete transformation -- included the increased storage -- at froufrugal.com.
The before shot of the main view. Stained carpet, peeling wallpaper (one of four layers we discovered.
The kitchen sink wall in progress.
The kitchen window wall with new trim around the windows, an open shelf and board and batten to hide many, many problems with the wall.
Some of the challenges we faced when we removed the wallpaper.
BEFORE: The north wall held cabinets butted against the arched doorway with an empty space in the far corner.
AFTER: The wall now has more cabinet space and includes the relocated pantry. I built the shelving unit on the end for even more storage.
