How about adding some Epsom Salt to the soil around the broccoli, this in magnesium sulfate, a necessary mineral the plants need. Be careful to not get it on the plant, it can burn it.

What kind is it? Some are biennial (every 2 yrs) Too much heat makes them "bolt".
