The living room was looking a bit white and sparse, so we came up with an idea. We decided to add an accent wall to the living room, but instead of just painting this wall, we decided to add some board and batten inspired squares to make it a little more interesting. It adds texture and dimension! A simple and cheap way to make a wall look rich💰

The window is very oddly positioned but with that in mind, we measured equal squares and formed them with the 1 x 4s. We then adhered them to the wall...

I caulked all the lines to make it look as solid as possible and then painted on just a few coats of dark gray paint!! I love the dark accent wall in the very white room.

Then we moved the furniture back in and BAM😍🙌🏼🔨🥃 What a great new look! Time to celebrate.

Here's a more zoomed-out shot of the whole space. Hope you all like it!
