Just getting rid of the current gnats won't solve your problem. You have to eliminate the cause.

Clean the kitchen well, do not keep fruit or any food stuff on the counters (rince counters off with a white vinegar/water solution). Keep your garbage disposal empty. Check the soil in your plants - the soil might need changing. Caulk around windows, etc.

Pour gel draino in all of your drains.

Leave in overnight if u can. Later rinse with hot water.

After you clean your kitchen down with a mixture of vinegar and dish soap and remove any fruit/produce Set small bowls of the mixture around the areas that you see them flying. Also pour bleach down the drains wait minimum 15 minutes and flush with hot water. (This is good to do to keep your drains running freely every month) The bowls will attract any "free flyers" and they will drown themselves!

If you are referring to fruit flies, this is what worked at our house. i removed produce from the kitchen counters, etc. & still had them. When my daughter told me to pour boiling water down the drain, I didn't feel it would work.....but it does! Has worked twice. She stated they breed in the drain (yuk!)
